Rest for the weary (Marc Cohn) (LP 2169)

Marc Cohn  The Rainy Season (CD, Atlantic Records, 1993) ****

Genre: pop rock

Places I remember: Shona Walding collection (Shona didn't look after her CDs too well, so it's a little beaten up)

Fab, and all the other pimply hyperboles: Walk Through The World

Gear costume: From The Station; She's Becoming Gold

Active compensatory factors: This was Marc's second album. he retains his smooth pop sound - just have a listen to that Fab track above and you'll know what I mean.

Bonnie Raitt is a guest on a couple of tracks and Jim Keltner occupies the drum stool throughout, so he has good company, but it all sounds so cozy and relaxed!

The only real reason I hang onto the album is the presence of David Crosby and Graham Nash on two tracks doing harmonies (the two Gear Costumes above).

Where do they all belong? I wouldn't buy this ordinarily, but thanks to Shona, David and Graham - I'll accept it gratefully.
