Biffy Clyro Puzzle (Vinyl, 14thFloor Records, 2007) ****
Biffy Clyro Opposites (Vinyl, 14thFloor Records, 2012) ****
Biffy Clyro Ellipsis (Vinyl, 14thFloor Records, 2016) ***
Genre: rock, prog metal
Places I remember: Fopp (Covent Garden); HMV (Oxford St)
Fab, and all the other pimply hyperboles: A Whole Child Ago (Puzzle)
Gear costume: Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies (Puzzle)
Active compensatory factors: Scottish rockers, Biffy Clyro (who knows?) are a great mixture of hard rock/prog metal/melodic metal.

I must admit it was their album covers and a great appearance on Later...with Jools Holland that initially won me over.
My favourite of these three would be Puzzle as it's quirky, experimental prog approach is more to my taste. Opposites was originally released as a double album but my version is the whittled down single version.
Ellipsis is where I've parted company with BC. Nothing negative, just that I feel that I have a good grasp of what the band are about after three albums.
Like NZ's The Datsuns and Green Day - there are only so many albums you need to own by those bands.
Where do they all belong? As I say, no great desire to keep buying Biffy Clyro albums, but I would be tempted again by those earlier Hypnosis inspired covers!
