Chick Churchill You & Me (Vinyl, Chrysalis Records, 1974) ****
Genre: pop/rock
Places I remember: Vinyl Countdown (New Plymouth)
Fab, and all the other pimply hyperboles: Broken Engagements
Gear costume: Come And Join Me
Active compensatory factors: Wisely, Chick Churchill, the keyboardist from Ten Years After, plays to his strengths here. He produces, arranges, plays keyboards, writes the songs but lets other musicians who aren't Alvin Lee into the fun and doesn't try and sing (even though the one time he does sing he's pretty good).

I love Alvin Lee and I love Ten Years After, but having him on the record would have overshadowed what Chick was aiming for, so, good move.
Instead - welcome aboards extended to Leo Lyons (TYA), Cozy Powell, Martin Barre, Roger Hodgson, Ric Lee (TYA), Bernie Marsden and Gary Pickford-Hopkins on vocals.
So, it sounds good and the songs are good, a few are even great!
Where do they all belong? A one-off solo album. He hasn't done any more to my knowledge. Pity, because this one is top notch.
