Charlie Rouse/ Paul Quinichette The Chase Is On (Vinyl, Bethlehem Records, originally 1958 - 1978 reissue) ****
Genre: Jazz
Places I remember: From Tom Shaw via Facebook
Fab, and all the other pimply hyperboles: The Chase Is On
Gear costume: You're Cheating Yourself
Active compensatory factors: The two tenor saxophones of Rouse and Quinischette weave around each other marvelously on this 1957 session (great great year wasn't it).

They each take up one side of the stereo separation and so it's fun listening to the different, but compatible styles.
Some heavyweight support is provided by Hank Jones or Wynton Kelly on piano and the drums from Ed Thigpen and bass by Wendell Marshall are a good foundation for the saxophonists.
Where do they all belong? I don't think they repeated the combo, so it's a great one-off session.
