The Cedar Walton/ Hank Mobley Quintet Breakthrough! (Vinyl, Muse Records, originally 1972 - reissue 1977) ****
Genre: Jazz
Places I remember: Tom Shaw via Facebook
Fab, and all the other pimply hyperboles: House On Maple Street
Gear costume: Breakthrough!
Active compensatory factors: I knew nothing about these two guys or this record before picking it up from Tom (he was having a clean out).

It's great! Cedar on piano with Hank on tenor sax and joined by Charles Davis on sax and a classy rhythm section. They all sound pretty inspired by each other's company on this session.
Where do they all belong? This was Mobley's last studio recording before retiring for health reasons. A real shame because he's brilliant on this album.
