Active compensatory factors: Unknown Mortal Orchestra is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Ruban Nielson. Initially from Auckland, he and the band are now based in Portland, Oregon.

On II he plays with two of his brothers and sundry others. The music is hard to categorise as he likes prog, psychedelic, dream pop and indie rock structures. II is more experimental than V, which feels more commercial (but not by much).
He, and the band, are exciting because they take plenty of risks and they mostly pay off. He's a true talent.
Where do they all belong? I'm keen to track down his/their other albums. I was lucky to pick these two up in a JB Hi Fi clearance sale.
