They loom large in his legend (The Album Collection playlists): Part 1; Part 2; Part 3; Part 4; Part 5; Part 6
Active compensatory factors: The Black Keys are Dan Auerbach (guitar) and Patrick Carney (drums). An unusual line-up for a band. and I really like this album and I wonder why I don't have more albums by The Black Keys? They combine a lot of the music genres/styles that I like - rock'n'roll, the blues, glam rock, surf rock and alt rock.

This was their seventh album. It was a commercial breakthrough - the songs on El Camino contain catchy hooks and are riff centred. It was the video for Lonely Boy that first caught my attention and the title/ packaging of El Camino that nailed me.
I wasn't disappointed when I bought it. It's chock full of excellent songs that don't outstay their welcome (it feels like a shorter than average album in the bloated CD age and that appeals to me as well).
Where do they all belong? So, why don't I have more of their albums? I have tried a few and they haven't stuck. I sense that The Black Keys' style/approach to El Camino is the high-water mark for me and my sensibilities.
