Jerkin' crocus (Mott The Hoople) (LP 3291)

Mott The Hoople  All The Young Dudes (CD, Sony/BMG Music, 1972 - this re-release 2006) ***

Genre: Rock, pop

Places I remember: Fives

Fab, and all the other pimply hyperboles: Sweet Jane

Gear costume: One Of The Boys, All The Young Dudes

They loom large in his legend (The Album Collection playlists): Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5

Active compensatory factors: Mott The Hoople have not been a band I've paid much attention to outside of a greatest hits album and this one which I bought in 2006 while living in England.

I used to own one of their post All The Young Dudes albums but sold it for the same reason I am giving this album 3 stars. Their hits are out of this world sublime and brilliant - catchy as all get out (Roll Away The Stone is my fav) but the albums have a lot of filler.

As far as glam bands go - I'll take Slade and T Rex thanks.

Where do they all belong? The compilation Collection is also in my CD racks and is all I/you need really.
