Apparently, this is the third album by Dave Matthews Band. I don't know his other work so this is a one off for me. The Middle Eastern grooves are interesting (and welcome) and the improvisation aspect is borrowed from jazz rock or even jazz fusion. As you know - big fan of jazz fusion!
The songs are generally quite lengthy but to my mind they need some melody and editing. To be fair, it's a bit hard to categorise their music.
I guess I'm just not a huge fan of Dave's gruff vocal style, and the music is fine but, ultimately, and strangely, not really my thing.
Where do they all belong? As indicated - a one-off.
